They always ate the testicles of all kinds of animals, so they were called No'yodika, Eaters of Testicles.

Quidnam videtis? Matris vaginam?
What do you see? Your mother's vagina?

Minxit.
He peed.

Coyote and his Daughters

Formosis pudendis amore inflammatus coitum concupivit.
On fire with love because of the beautiful private parts, he wanted to have sex (with his daughters).

Tunc demum membrum in vaginam inseruit.

Coire incepit cum uxore.
He began having sex with his wife.

Mane filiarum vestes semine humidae lavandae erant.
In the morning, his daughters' clothes, drenched with semen, had to be washed.

Omnibus noctibus Coyote assidue coibat cum mulieribus.
Coyote spent night after night constantly having sex with the women. (his daughters)

Puer Canem conspexit membro inserto, dum cauda terram violenter percutiebat.
(Coyote's son) saw Coyote with his penis stuck (into his daughter) and his tail beating violently against the ground.

Ceteris inscientibus membrum virile in puellae vaginam inseruit.
When the others weren't looking, (Coyote) stuck his penis into the girl's (his granddaughter's) vagina.

The Theft of Pine-nuts

The Theft of Pine-nuts in
The Northern Shoshone
by Robert Lowie, 1909.

Here is the Latin you need to understand the story; I have linked to the story page by page with the Latin passages below:

p. 247

...ut cum rana muliebri coiret
... in order to have sex with the female frog.

Illum in mulierem incumbentem Grus calcibus interfecit.
Crane kicked him to death as he lay on the woman.

It cracks me up whenever he interrupts a sentence midway to switch to Latin!

The Theft of Fire

The Theft of Fire in
The Northern Shoshone
by Robert Lowie, 1909.

Here is the Latin you need to understand the story; I have linked to the story page by page with the Latin passages below:

p. 244

Apud puellas ambulabat, earumque pudenda scrutabatur.
(Coyote) walked among the young women, and he inspected their private parts.

Comas non invenit.
He did not find any (public) hair.

Ad castra rediit.
He went back to the camp.

Cantavit "Absunt comae."
He sang, "There is no (pubic) hair."

Multas comas invenit.
He found much (pubic) hair.

Rediit, cantavit "Multae sunt comae."
He came back, he sang, "There is much (pubic) hair."

[Google Translate did fine with this Latin; it's the first time Google Translate has actually gotten it correct, but it's hard to imagine Latin simpler than this. I wonder if Google Translate understood that it is pubic hair!]

Wolf and Coyote

Wolf and Coyote in
The Northern Shoshone

"Bonus est coitus, ex utero nasci oportet.
(Coyote said), "Sex is good; people should be born from the uterus."

Melli est coitus."
Sex is sweet."

p. 240

Conspectis pudendis muliebribus tu certe coitum concupisces.
After you've seen the female private parts, for sure YOU are going to want to have sex.

The Creation of the Shoshone

The Creation of the Shoshone
in
by Robert Lowie, 1909.

Here is the Latin you need to understand the story; I have linked to the story page by page with the Latin passages below:

p. 237

In media via, Canis amore inflammatus muliere frui conatus est.
Along the way, Coyote, inflamed with love, tried to have sex with the woman.

Earum vagina dentibus insita.
Each woman's vagina was sown with teeth.

Quod edunt, dentibus vaginalibus mordent.
Whatever they eat, they chew with their vaginal teeth.

Coire simula, sed aliquid aliud intrude.
Pretend to have sex, but stick something else in there.
(this is the advice Coyote receives from his anus)

Minxerunt.
They pissed.

Penem insertum esse simulavit, vere nihil inseruit.
(Coyote) pretended to insert his penis, but in fact he didn't insert anything.

Rima clausa est, non eum vulneravit.
The hole closed, but it did not hurt him.
(i.e. because he hadn't put anything into the vagina's hole)

Fugiens ad portam cucurrit.
Escaping, he ran to the door.

Vetula secuta; cuius quoque dentes non Canem, sed solam togam momorderunt.
The old woman followed him, but her teeth also did not bite Coyote, only his garment.
(coyote: canis togatus!)

Canis effugiens dentium crepitum audiebat.
As he escaped, Coyote heard the sound of teeth crunching.

p. 238

Tunc in rima claudentem cornu inseruit.
Then he inserted the horn.
(the horn is a scraper made of elk-horn which the anus told Coyote to stick into the vaginas)

Omnes dentes cornu perrupit sustulitque.
The horn broke all her (vaginal) teeth and tore them out.

Ad puellam rediit et cum ea assidue copulavit.
He returned to the young woman and had repeated sex with her.

Tunc demum cum matre coiit.
Then at last he had sex with her mother.

Postridie mulieres se gravidas esse senserunt.
The next day the women realized they were pregnant.

p. 239

Ex lapide membrum virile finxit.
He made a penis from the stone.
(in this variant, Coyote uses a penis made of blue stone to smash the vaginal teeth, instead of the scraper made of elk-horn)

Cum domum veniret vaginalium dentium crepitum audivit.
When he came to the house, he heard the sound of vaginal teeth crunching.

Inserto membro quod fictum erat, omnes dentes perrupit.
After he inserted the penis that had been made (from the stone), he broke all the (vaginal) teeth.

Tum spinis vulvam vulneravit.
Then he hurt the vulva with the thorns (from the rosebush).

Here we go!

 Whoo-hoo!
